    Captain Xavious' Weapon Mod

    No idea where I am going with this yet, just getting the feel for it, but I think ultimately I will make a new weapon for every one in Wrack normally.

    This is me, about five minutes in (please excuse the lack of textures):

    EDIT: Ooops, image is tiny. I will see if I can fix that.

    Try this, not a great solution but I am confused on this at the moment.

    Looks pretty sweet. Fits nicely with the Wrack theme.

    What kinda weapon is it? Sort of looks like a grenade launcher.

    I have made a significant breakthrough! I now have the first person weapon working in game!

    Unfortunately, in order to do this its kind of a pain, I select anim I want to export in Action Editor, export the thing as a .X file, repeat this for each anim (making sure to not overwrite other ones), then I open up the .X files in Notepad and copy/paste the only AnimSet availble and put them all into one .X file, making sure to name the Animation Set for each one.

    Its a pain, but totally doable.

    @PsySystem thanks! I made this for UT2004 (Ballistic Weapon mod) as a grenade launcher, and as of yet its undecided what it will be in Wrack, but chances are it will be a grenade launcher at some point.

    If it is going to be a grenade launcher then I am keen for Quake like physics on the grenade ;D

    I'm not. I hate Quake GL physics. If you're only going to lob a grenade 5 foot you might as well throw it. If it's going to be a grenade launcher it's going to perform a little differently.

    Oh shit, looks good. Though I'd say it looks more of a shotgun/rifle hybrid than a grenade launcher. And that sounds like a horrid way to export the model though. What tools are you using to do it?

    Also can't really tell because of small pic, but keep in mind that intricate details/small extrusions end up looking ugly sometimes with the cel shading. I wish there was something that could be done with the Arcturan's eyes .

    I designed it as a large bore gun, which lends itself well as a super shotgun or a grenade launcher. If this was a rifle it would be shooting ridiculous sized bullets (somewhere around the 30mm-35mm range).

    And actually I think the level of detail I got should be pretty good. The rear sights might need tweaking but for the most part my detail level for models is about par for Wrack's weapons, which is awesome for me.

    Hmm, now that I look at it the texture seems to stand out a bit from Wrack's environment. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.

    Nah, its not a good thing. Much too detailed. I will go over it later and give it a more fitting texture before too long.
